A fitness tracker like an Apple Watch or a Fitbit Air already knows a lot about your sleep, your heart and how much you move. Most health apps turn that into scores and streaks to keep up with, and want an account and your data in return.
We wanted an app that simply tells you what it all means for your day, in plain words, and then lets you get on with it. So we made Akari.
Food is part of your day too, and logging it is usually the most annoying thing about any health app: weighing everything, searching long lists, picking portions. We wanted the easiest way there is. Take a picture, or say what you ate in your own words, and Akari works out the rest.
We’re two people in Germany, and we make Akari together, from the first idea to the last word. We take our time with the science behind it, and with how we put it into words.
You’ll notice that in how Akari talks to you. Its explanations rest on research, and they’re written so anyone can follow them, without jargon and without alarm.
